A coastal route Brisbane to Cairns self drive motorhome RV trip 7 days
Here is a suggested itinerary for a Brisbane to Cairns coastal road trip by RV or motorhome, assuming a 7-day trip:
Day 1: Brisbane to Noosa (approx. 140km/2 hours)
Depart from Brisbane and head north to Noosa.
Spend the day exploring the beaches, national parks, and other attractions of Noosa.
Overnight at a campsite or RV park in or near Noosa.
Day 2: Noosa to Hervey Bay (approx. 240km/3 hours)
Depart from Noosa in the morning and drive north to Hervey Bay. Stop at the Great Sandy National Park or any of the beaches along the way. Arrive in Hervey Bay in the afternoon and explore the town and nearby attractions.
Overnight at a campsite or RV park in Hervey Bay.
Day 3: Hervey Bay to Bundaberg (approx. 100km/1.5 hours)
Depart from Hervey Bay in the morning and drive north to Bundaberg. Visit the Mon Repos Conservation Park and see the turtles (depending on the season) or explore the Bundaberg Rum Distillery. Overnight at a campsite or RV park in or near Bundaberg.
Day 4: Bundaberg to Airlie Beach (approx. 640km/8 hours)
Depart from Bundaberg in the morning and drive north to Airlie Beach. Stop for a hike or a swim in the Eungella National Park or any of the beaches along the way. Arrive in Airlie Beach in the evening and settle in for the night.
Overnight at a campsite or RV park in or near Airlie Beach.
Day 5: Airlie Beach (Day trip to Whitsunday Islands)
Take a day trip to the Whitsunday Islands, where you can go snorkelling, sailing, or just relax on the beach.
Return to Airlie Beach in the evening and spend the night at the same campsite or RV park.
Day 6: Airlie Beach to Mission Beach (approx. 410km/5 hours)
Depart from Airlie Beach in the morning and drive north to Mission Beach. Stop at the Bowen Mango Farm or any of the beaches along the way. Arrive in Mission Beach in the afternoon and explore the area.
Overnight at a campsite or RV park in or near Mission Beach.
Day 7: Mission Beach to Cairns (approx. 150km/2 hours)
Depart from Mission Beach in the morning and drive north to Cairns. Stop at the Tully Gorge National Park or any of the beaches along the way. Arrive in Cairns in the afternoon and return the RV or motorhome. Spend the evening exploring the city or relaxing after a week of adventure.
